[5.4] The total number of vehicles (cars and motorcycles) divided by total campus’ Population

[5.4]  = 3614 / 44.622  = 0,0809 = 8.09%

Description :

The total number of vehicles, including cars and motorcycles, using the parking area at Universitas Halu Oleo is divided into three parts: the number of cars actively used and managed by the campus, the number of cars entering the campus area every day, and the number of motorcycles entering the campus area every day.

  1. The number of cars actively managed by Universitas Halu Oleo = 48 unit
  2. The number of cars entering the campus area every day = 559 unit
  3. The number of motorcycles entering the campus area every day = 3007 unit

The number of vehicles = 48 + 559 + 3007 = 3614 unit

The total population of people at Universitas Halu Oleo is divided into the number of regular students and the number of lecturer, academic staff and administrative staff..

The number of active regular student = 43.036 person

The number of Lecturer, Academic Staff and Administrative Staff  =1586 person

The Total Campus Population of Universitas Halu Oleo  = 43.036 + 1586 = 44.622 People The ratio of the number of vehicles divided by the total campus population is:  3614/44.622 = 0,0809

[5.5] Shuttle Services

Description:

Universitas Halu Oleo provides a shuttle bus service that operates every Monday to Friday. The average passenger capacity of the bus is 20 people. There are 16 designated bus stops on the campus bus route. The total daily trips amount to 9, with 3 trips in the morning, 3 trips in the afternoon, and 3 trips in the evening. Furthermore, the university’s shuttle bus service is provided free of charge. Shuttle service is provided by university, regular, and free use for academic community.

[5.9] Zero Emission Vehicles (ZEV) Policy on Campus

Description:

Universitas Halu Oleo has launched and implemented a car-free day every Friday, starting from September 16, 2022, with the aim of creating an environmentally-friendly campus environment by promoting the use of bicycles for faculty, staff, and students within the university campus as an eco-friendly mode of transportation. In addition, Universitas Halu Oleo has established a partnership with Neo Group for the use of solar-powered electric motorcycles. Current condition, zero-emission vehicles are currently in use on campus and has been provided by the university for free

[5.13] Ratio of Parking Area to Total Campus Area

Description:

Universitas Halu Oleo total area is 4.860.000 m2 with Car parking area = 4728,57 m2 and Motorcycle parking area = 5177,13 m2

Formula : (Total area parkir / total area UHO)  x 100 %

Rasio = (9905,7 / 4.860.000) x 100 %  = 0,20382716%

Total main campus area: 4.860.000 m2

Total parking area = 9905,7 m2    Ratio = 0,20382716%

[5.14] Program to limit or decrease the parking area on campus for the last 3 years (from 2020 to 2022)

Description:

Over the past 3 years, Universitas Halu Oleo has made efforts to address transportation issues as a means of reducing parking areas:

  1. A green, cool, and beautiful campus focused on conserving protected plant trees, which also helps reduce traffic noise.
  2. Availability of wide road access within the Universitas Halu Oleo campus area.
  3. Arrangement of motorcycle parking spaces with protective tree conservation, bicycle parking with shaded roofs, and car parking with shaded roofs, making land use more suitable, comfortable, and beautiful.
  4. Conversion of 11% of car and motorcycle parking spaces into bicycle parking and gardens.
  5. The presence of pedestrian and bicycle lanes helps reduce the use of motor vehicles.
  6. Increased use of bicycles for commuting to campus by faculty, staff, and students.

Universitas Halu Oleo already succeed decrease parking area on campus for the last 3 years up  to 11% parking area into bicycle parkin and gardens.

[5.15] Number of Transportation Initiatives to Decrease Private Vehicles on Campus

Description:

In order to reduce private vehicles the following are the initiation programs that have been carried out at Universitas Halu Oleo:

  1. Provide Bus Shuttle regularly for free
  2. Provide pedestrian pedestrian pathways protected by sheltering trees
  3. Provide Bicycle-friendly lanes
  4. Conversion of 11% of car and motorcycle parking spaces into bicycle parking and gardens.
  5. Collaboration with Neo Group in the use of solar-powered electric motorcycles on campus.

[5.16] Pedestrian Path Policy on Campus

Description:

The pedestrian pathway policy at Halu Oleo University’s campus is part of the university’s leadership program with the following components:

Pedestrian pathways are available.

Pedestrian pathways are available and designed for safety by providing pathways that are at a distance from the main road

Available pedestrian pathways designed for safety and comfort with provides pedestrian with protective trees and shades roof

Available pedestrian pathways designed for safety, comfort, and in some parts equipped with features for people with disabilities.
